Not All Stop Smoking Programs That Use Hypnosis Are The Same--How To Choose a Program That Is Right For YOU

While a hypnosis based stop smoking program can be very effective in helping you free yourself from the grip of your smoking habit, it is important that you understand that the value and effectiveness of such programs varies widely from program to program and from individual hypnotherapist to hypnotherapist. Not all stop smoking programs that use hypnosis are the same.

 

The information below will help you choose the RIGHT program and the RIGHT hypnotherapist.  At the end of this article, we will also recommend a specific program that serves a large section of Kentucky and Indiana.

 

There are two broad categories of hypnosis based stop smoking programs:

 

  • Group hypnosis programs, and
  • Private hypnosis programs

 

Group hypnosis programs are often promoted by traveling hypnotists who typically rent a meeting space in a local hotel or other such facility and attempt to hypnotize a large audience (all at the same time).  Traveling hypnotists usually promote their upcoming visit using newspaper and radio advertisements.

The final type of stop smoking program that uses hypnosis is based on extensive scientific research and uses a highly effective systematic step-by-step approach.  These program are about 5 sessions in length, and they employ the most effective forms of hypnosis and produce the very best permanent results.  The scientifically based and systematic stop smoking programs take place in a private and confidential one-on-one setting.  Stop Smoking Kentucky and Stop Smoking Indiana recommends that you only consider a scientifically based systematic stop smoking program.

 

In conclusion, here is a comprehensive checklist of thing to look for in a stop smoking program and in a hypnotherapist:

 

  1. The program should be scientifically based and systematic.
  2. The program should consist of at least 5 session.
  3. The hypnotherapist you will be seeing should have a minimum of 10 years of experience (the more experience the better).
  4. The hypnotherapist you will be seeing should be a member of the American Association of Professional Hypnotherapist (AAPH) or the National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH).  Being a member of both is even better.
  5. You should be able to speak with the hypnotherapist you will be seeing BEFORE you set the first appointment.  Make sure you feel comfortable with that hypnotherapist.
