Stop Smoking with Hypnosis

How it works

Hypnotherapy has moved to the front of the line when it comes to therapeutic approaches to smoking cessation.  Hypnosis is a very powerful, yet gentle, method that has not only proven to be a highly effective at stopping the smoking habit but also one that is rapidly gaining the confidence of medical and mental health professionals.  More and more doctors are referring their patients who smoke to qualified hypnotherapist.

There are numerous advantages to using hypnosis as a method to stop smoking.  Some of those benefits are discussed below.

Most smokers know that there are two parts to their smoking habit:  the emotional and psychological side and the physical addiction side.  Many stop smoking programs address only the physical addiction side.  For example, patches and gums seek to provide an alternate nicotine delivery method while ignoring the emotional and psychological aspect of smoking, and prescriptions drugs often seek to hide withdrawal symptoms under a drug induced cloud (all you have to do is read the frightening warning labels on those drugs).  But, attempting to handle the physical addiction of smoking is not nearly enough.  The emotional and psychological components are very often even stronger than the physical addiction, so any effective stop smoking program must address BOTH.  Hypnosis is unique in that it effectively targets BOTH the emotional and psychological aspects AND the physical addiction of smoking.

Hypnotherapy works to eliminate, at the subconscious level, the underlying emotional and psychological motivations and triggers that drive smoking.  Withdrawal symptoms are also controlled or entirely removed through stress reduction and the natural calming effects that hypnosis brings.  Irritability, stress, anxiety, insomnia and other such withdrawal symptoms can often be effectively reduced or completely extinguished.  In effect, hypnosis has the power to turn a smoker into a non-smoker—with the urge to smoke simply disappearing.

Hypnosis is also geared to provide rapid results that are permanent.  A smoker who decides to quit, using methods other than hypnosis, on average makes ten attempts over a five year period before achieving success (and most never are able to stop smoking).  Hypnosis usually produces permanent results within about five sessions spaced over a short five week period.

In addition, hypnotherapy is cost effective.  A complete stop smoking program using hypnosis can generally be secured for less than the cost of buying a few weeks worth of cigarettes.  Many smokers spend over $3000.00 per year on tobacco, but a stop smoking program using hypnosis should cost only a small fraction of that amount.  Of course, the real cost effectiveness of hypnotherapy lies in the health benefits, peace of mind, and added self-confidence and self-respect that a former smoker realizes when they are able to successfully stop their destructive and deadly habit permanently.

Hypnotherapy, as a method of smoking cessation, can be highly effective and produce quick and permanent results.  Hypnosis is also comfortable, relaxing, private, and confidential.  What the smoker has to have is a sincere desire to stop smoking, and a willingness to fully participate in the program.

STOP...Not all hypnosis is the same
